HELLO

It means so much that you'd take the time to learn more about us. We see that as an absolute gift. Our prayer is that you'll sense the love of Jesus in our church family while you're visiting.

Let me say that we're in no way a perfect church if that isn't already evident. We are, however, a church family that is genuinely seeking to grow in the Lord together and live this mission of bringing the love of Jesus to our community and the uttermost parts of the world.

- Lead Pastor, Dr. Nathan Rouse

Our Values

Anyone with any past can have a new future in Jesus.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"

2 Corinthians 5:17:

No matter where you've been or what you’ve done, Jesus offers a fresh start to all those take hold of him.

We need each other.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Hebrews 10:24-25:

While we’re saved individually, we’re kept and grown in community. Our passion for community comes from our desire to support, encourage, and build one other up in the faith.

There's a next step in Jesus for everyone, of all ages.

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."

Colossians 2:6-7:

No matter your age or where you are in your walk with Jesus, there’s always a next step to take. We want to help you take your next step with him.

We believe in being the Church, not just in going to church.

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Matthew 5:14-16:

The Church is not a building or a service, but those who’ve said “Yes” to following Jesus. We desire to see The Church live out our faith every day: serving others, sharing the Gospel, and being the hands and feet of Jesus to the world.

What We Believe

The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. This Statement of Fundamental Truths is intended simply as a basis of fellowship among us (i.e., that we all speak the same thing, 1 Corinthians 1:10; Acts 2:42). The phraseology employed in this statement is not inspired or contended for, but the truth set forth is held to be essential to a full-gospel ministry. No claim is made that it contains all biblical truth, only that it covers our need as to these fundamental doctrines.

OUR STORY

1964 | Faith Church: The Early Years

Our roots as a church have grown  deep in Northwest Houston for over fifty years. In 1963, a small congregation from The Heights purchased the former White Oak Baptist Church at 2800 Mangum Road. Two years later in 1965, Reverend John C. Minor who had served as the Senior Pastor of Heights Assembly for many years, was convinced to come out of retirement to serve as Senior Pastor of Faith Assembly of God.

1982 | Growing into a New Campus

To accommodate church growth, Faith purchased 10 undeveloped acres and built the Faith Assembly of God Worship & Learning Center at the current location, 7755 Fairbanks N Houston Rd. Since 1982, Faith has met on this campus. Numerous families have raised children, many have been married, and others have launched into ministry from Faith during this season.

1968 | Passing the Leadership Mantle

During his three years of leadership, in 1968, Pastor Minor recruited his daughter and son and law—Reverend Happy & Jonnie Darneal—to return to Houston from Corpus Christi where they were serving in ministry. Under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Happy & Jonnie, the church experienced unprecedented growth.

2006 | Legacy

In September 2006, during the thirty-eighth year of his pastoral ministry at Faith, Pastor Happy graduated into the presence of the Lord. Pastor Jason Taylor, who grew up at Faith under the ministry of Pastor Happy, stepped into the pulpit as lead pastor in November 2006. Pastor Jason led Faith Assembly Church for 10 years prior to answering a call to church plant in the suburbs of Oklahoma where his wife's family has served in ministry for nearly four decades.

2017 | A Rich Future

On June 25, 2017, Faith affirmed Dr. Nathan Rouse as lead pastor. Stepping into this role with a humble heart, he has a keen focus on the future God is calling the church towards and believes wholeheartedly in investing in people. On March 1, 2019 we launched our FaithFWD Renovation Campaign and officially changed our name to Faith Church.

Renovations were completed in November 2019, preparing us for the next generation. As we move forward for the next generation, we invite you to be part.
